I worked on Sylvanas again:
Still not quite satisfied with her body and skin
More productive is the work with my castanics:
I worked on different skins and outfits, together with hair color and makeup
I stayed with the first and the last one
you may see my castanic textures and horns on Zafos and Eclesi4stik sites in the future

Yeah I was kinda busy the last 2 weeks with it
I have so much ideas right now, but they are too much right now xD because don't finish the first idea, but instead go on to the next one
well, the next update has to wait until I have finished some of them and until I know what to do with these sets
I am seriously thinking of becoming a vendor
the extra money would be helpfull, for Octane, or new hardware
I am putting a lot work and time into each project
An image set with a little "story" and some animations (maybe as flash file)
Or selling my castanic texture set, with some new build horns for every hairstyle
but I will ask some of the other artists who are allready selling their work, on how this is done and/or how much the fee is to sell it on specific site like, affec3d or renderotica

ReplyDeleteRegarding vendoring, especially in this day and age, you may be better served by selling adspace rather than trying to vendor images. Vendoring you either get paid for the image or you don't if somebody pirates it, but ads pay based on visits and clicks, so piracy doesn't really affect it.
I certainly would be willing to click some ads to keep you in business.
I like the pink haired model, but NOT a fan of the mask over the face.

ReplyDeleteI think you should try using ads before turn to vendoring and see how that works out for you first. Your site gets a good amount of visits, so it might be good. I'll support you either way though.

ReplyDeleteSelling images individually firstly leaves you very vulnerable to piracy, and extremely tied to releases if you want to get anything back, once somebody has bought the image they won't buy it a second time. Selling adspace lets you collect revenue off traffic for the site - so as long as you keep it reasonably updated, you'll get a steady revenue stream from constant traffic. I'd highly recommend you start out by selling adspace - if it doesn't produce enough to work, then no big loss, you can try to sell images individually to generate some additional money. However, if you try to sell images and it tanks your website traffic due to people not wanting to buy the images, and then not bothering to visit the site anymore if there aren't a reasonable amount of free images available, that would make it hard to recover from.
